Review # 12, or is it #11? of Joan’s disgusting book; Duped by Adoption #11 Ruth Willerth

Actually it is #12, as it came after Ruth Pace’s review, which was #11.

Dark Side of Adoption is written by a Ruth Willerth. She wrote a review for Joan’s first piece of garbage, years back and apparently hasn’t ‘gotten’ with the latest trend of Joan’s propaganda.

A strange thing happened as this review appeared; Ruth Pace’s (my sister) review was REMOVED and ALL of my comments were REMOVED! I will confess that I was flabbergasted when I saw that and immediately wrote a ‘comment’, which I neglected to copy. That comment was removed by Amazon, as I apparently violated ‘guidelines’. Later I did write another comment and Ruth Pace reposted her review and added a comment; they are presented here, in this post.

It needs to be noted that my comments are being routinely deleted, on this review and on others…obviously they (Joan and company) want to silence the birth sisters…again. But getting back this REVIEW

Ruth Willerth apparently has a unique view of what Joan Wheeler’s positions on adoption and birth certificates are, as well as certain political figures!

Make no mistake; Joan Wheeler’s books(S) have NOTHING to do with changing the political climate about and over ADOPTION AND BIRTH CERTIFICATES. Joan’s book is totally about her PERCEPTIONS of members of her birth and adoptive families. Joan’s book is not and never shall be a mover for political changes!

Now from Amazon…

Dark Side of Adoption  By Ruth Willerth on January 21, 2016

The dark side of adoption. Read her first edition of her book, back when Trump was vetting Obama’s birth certificate and learned a lot. This revised version is even better written. It’s a true story on how when America changed it rules to remove the stigma of being born a bastard, America did so with a lie. Nothing good comes from a lie.

Nothing good comes from a lie! This rewrite has nothing to do with birth certificates or reforming adoption, the author removed all those aspects. This book is about the author’s perceptions of her life and those in 2 families and her presentations are far from being truthful.

Ruth Pace commented

Nothing Good Comes From a Lie – yes, but this book is NOT the truth. This book was previously removed from print by Trafford Publications because I sent them actual police and court documents that proved that 1. she libeled me in the book. 2. she did not protect my identity – in a footnote she told her readers (all 10 of them) where to find an article she wrote in 1990 that contained my full and true name. 3. She had on the back cover a family photo that was taken a year before she was born. — She signed a contract with Trafford stating that her non-fiction book was the truth, but my documents proved she lied, and the contract also stated that the author holds the sole copyright to the work and all it’s content – how does she hold the sole copyright to a photo that was taken before she was born? Because she violated the contract she signed with them, the publisher pulled it from print.
She also claimed that a lawyer “vetted” the book. No, because she says in the book that my father was a poor uneducated man, however in 1955, he took a job as a civil engineer in the streets paving department of the City of Buffalo, working in City Hall, and had many political persons as personal friends. Joan’s “lawyer” was either a piss-poor vetter, or a figment of Joan’s imagination. Why do I call this lawyer a piss-poor vetter? Because in the downtown public library of Buffalo NY are back issues of Polk’s City Directories – that list my father’s name, address, employer and his job title in the directories from oh, the late 40’s all onto the 2000’s.

Ruth Willerth says:

Read all your comments. Agree that Forbidden Family is a tale about how a mixed up girl became an adoption abolitionist. The protagonist according to the chapter one, grew up as an only child, knowing she was adopted, wishing that she had siblings for most of her life. Because she decided to try to find out about her biological father, she got exactly what she had been asking for: a much bigger family.

Supporting Chapters show that “only children” lack the skill sets developed by living with brothers and sisters. And to top off suddenly not liking having family, the protagonist found out that everyone in both families knew all about her adoption. She was not on the need-to-know-list and devastation set in.

Once the protagonist’s defining moment has been established, it’s easy to follow on loosing her trust of the people she always held sacred turned tragic for both families. As the plot progresses, Forbidden Family matures into a tale where the protagonist struggles for redemption leading to her idealist quest to fix the laws on how America adopts children.

Have you noticed that the author does not mention the existence of that first book! Joan Wheeler has gone out of her way to avoid the mention of that first book. Therefore, I want to thank you for bringing that fact out. Considering that the author has been distancing herself from that book, and has removed 4 chapters from this ‘new’ book, that dealt with the issue of birth certificates, I wonder if Joan appreciates what you have said! The author’s story-telling, of members of two families, are not presented truthfully. To quote you, Ruth W, Nothing good comes from a lie.

I totally disagree with your assessment of the plot (there is NO plot) and protagonist (just a angry person) and considering that many of the episodes never took place, or if they did, certainly not in the ways they are described, coupled with the deliberate attempts to portray everyone to be a monster to the poor child/adult/adoptee. Every relationship that the author had was destroyed by her own behaviors. Existing facts over ride what the book details.

Let’s now really take a look at what Ruth Willerth said…

The dark side of adoption. Read her first edition of her book, back when Trump was vetting Obama’s birth certificate and learned a lot. This revised version is even better written. It’s a true story on how when America changed it rules to remove the stigma of being born a bastard, America did so with a lie. Nothing good comes from a lie.

My comments, about her statement, here on this blog post…

That’s THE problem, this reviewer and others BELIEVE just what Joan tells them, from her perception, adoption has a ‘dark’ side. There may be some aspects that need reform but that is no excuse to exploit family members! Joan isn’t interested in reform and Ruth W, doesn’t get that!

So Ruth W. read Joan’s first book! And yes, years back there was that controversy over Obama’s birth certificate. Joan wrote an article in the Buffalo News about it. Joan and her gang of ‘friends’ went far over the top. I remember that their comments they were presenting were very dangerous. Joan started to ‘attack’, on line, myself and sister Ruth, when we spoke up. Eventually the entire comment section was deleted and CLOSED. This is the kind of danger that happens when you have idiots posting things they know nothing about.

Ruth W is under the misunderstanding that Joan’s book/story has something to do with America changing rules! It has NOTHING what so ever to do with America and adoption rules but everything to do with Joan’s hatred and anger!

Here is Ruth W’s earlier review of the first book;

Timely Informative, May 23, 2011 By Ruth Willerth

This review is from: Forbidden Family (Paperback)

Forbidden Family by Joan M Wheeler is timely considering it took the resources of Donald Trump to make public President Obama’s birth certificate. I’m so glad to find out that he really is an American. I live in the part of America that must produce whatever forms government says we must like birth certificates, social security cards, photo id… Being one of millions of Americans not understanding Hawaii seals all birth certificates from the public, I wonder… How the public would respond if our president was adopted so had two conflicting birth certificates?

^^^^^^^

As you see, Ruth W, only has a focus on the birth certificate aspects, she is incapable of reading and seeing the truth of what Joan Wheeler has written, that is why there are COMMENTS to reviews, to provide a balance.

And Ruth W. proves my very points when she says…

‘As the plot progresses, Forbidden Family matures into a tale where the protagonist struggles for redemption leading to her idealist quest to fix the laws on how America adopts children.’

Oh brother! People really do not know how to read with a critical thinking mind. Joan Wheeler obviously has a following that sees her as a great redeemer of those ‘dark sides’ of adoption! There is none so blind as they that refuse to see!

I shall continue to write against Joan M Wheeler for her slandering and misrepresenting me and my family.

NOW it is to be well noted that members of this group, http://northsidewriters.com/members.html   of which Joan is a member, have also written reviews of Joan’s book. Fred Tomasello Jr (review #1) Ruth Willerth (review #12), Larry Beahan (review #13)

AND various comments have been deleted, reworked and deleted…etc
